James Townsend Ltd has a wealth of over 140 years specialist printing experience. Founded in 1866, the family owned company employs 85 staff with an average length of service being 17 years.
Based in Central Exeter, Devon, only 6 miles from Exeter International Airport, the company has a major presence in the city with a site covering approximately 80,000 square feet. It currently produces around 1.6 billion labels per year for national and international clients.
James Townsend Ltd has been a long-standing contributor to the local community, and currently supports the Exeter Hospiscare charity and the Exeter Chiefs rugby team.
As part of the ‘Envision’ Programme, an EU-wide waste minimisation project, the company has made a significant impact on waste reduction by integrating positive environmental practices into the workplace. Adopting the green approach throughout the company, James Townsend Ltd has also made a breakthrough developing high quality recycled wet glue labels suitable for countless applications.
